I count the stars in sky
To the darkness I feel nigh
Galaxy of thoughts swirl around invisibly
Chained to night yet floating free
As each star relate my blessings
I lose the count , memories jangling
I look above again and wonder
Is it really dusky? echoes whisper
The silent breeze sweeps my tears
Yet again my eyes turn blear
The dreams that robbed my sleep
Now sings lullabies that linger deep
Wishing words forgotten as they writ
But this insomniac remembers every bit

Well written Sitara! The night does have that…quality that calls to some of us. More often than not, I feel more awake at night than I do in the morning!
Cheers,

Yes rahul , I can very much relate to it . The darkness reveals more than the presence of light !!
Beautiful poem π
Thanks Ayala !
Insomnia beautifully described, Sitara. Although, I don’t normally suffer from insomnia, I definitely am a night owl and can stay up into the wee hours of the morning.
Well , thats nocturnal π And there is not much of a difference between an insomniac and a nocturnal ;)Thanks Bodhi ! π
